The campus underwent extensive interior repairs and upgrades after sustaining significant flood damage in the spring of 2023 across Buildings A, B, C, D.1, E, and F. The flood affected areas up to four feet above the floor, necessitating a full gutting up 4 feet of the walls and replacement of impacted materials. In classrooms, tackable wall panels were carefully removed, and new finishes were installed before the tack boards were replaced, ensuring seamless restoration.
As part of the project, new flooring and baseboards were installed throughout the affected spaces, alongside the replacement of damaged mechanical fixtures, furniture, and interior doors. In classrooms and other spaces, cabinetry was replaced with designs that matched the original layouts, preserving the campus’s functional and aesthetic integrity.
Restroom facilities saw a complete overhaul to meet current ADA standards, including upgrades to fixtures and finishes in both boys’ and girls’ restrooms. Accessibility enhancements extended to locker rooms, where new lockers and benches were installed to improve functionality and compliance.
In addition to the restoration of physical spaces, the project included vital systems upgrades. The data and telecommunications infrastructure were modernized to align with current standards, and electrical systems were improved. The gymnasium also received a brand-new floor, and administrative and multipurpose areas were repaired and updated with new cabinetry and storage units.
Throughout the process, the campus’s fire alarm system was carefully preserved and integrated seamlessly into the restored areas, ensuring continued safety compliance.
This comprehensive restoration not only repaired the flood damage but also brought meaningful upgrades, enhancing both functionality and compliance across all affected buildings.
